Thoughts on India-Pakistan war, terrorism, frustration
I'm just going to list down the chronology of events as they happened and you decide where the world is going
This post is not to incite hatred - but to show things as is. Because we have lost way too much in diplomacy and politics.
The day of 22nd April, 2025 witnessed an extremist and religious attack on 26 innocent lives in India. Their fault? They were not Muslims.
Terrorists from Pakistan entered the tourist attraction in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir and shot down 26 men after just asking one question - recite the Kalima, which is a declaration of faith in Islam.
There was a security lapse and involvement of some anti-national locals. Without these two things, it is not possible to enter so deep into Indian territory. With this, I have no intentions to say that all Kashmiris are bad people. Every country, every region, every area has some elements who act as parasites.
There will be people who in spite of seeing the videos of the families who faced these ghastly attacks ask for proof. To them, I only have one thing to say - “You can only awaken those truly asleep, not those merely pretending”.
On 25th April, 2025, Pakistan’s defence minister admitted of backing terrorist groups and went on to say “We’re doing it since 3 decades and doing the dirty work for US, UK and the West”. Check this out
On 7th May, 2025, India prepared a befitting reply and conducted ‘Operation Sindoor’ targeting 9 terrorist infrastructures located in Pakistan occupied Kashmir and Pakistan mainland. Reports say that over 100 terrorists were killed by these strikes.
Pakistan called this an ‘act of war’ and the military started attacking 15 cities of India by sending drones, which India intercepted barring a few.
On 8th May, 2025, India retaliated focussing on Pakistan’s military bases and radar systems - since the war is not with the people of Pakistan, but the leadership and the military.
On the same day, photos circulated all over the world where top officials from Pakistan were seen attending funerals of terrorists killed in Operation Sindoor. See here
Apart from this, Pakistan has already been guilty of training and sheltering terrorists time and again. They have been responsible most terrorist attacks in India from Parliament attacks in 2001 to Mumbai train blasts in 2006 to attack on Taj in 2008.
I’m sure this is more than enough evidence that Pakistan trains, grooms and shelters terrorists. This is called STATE SPONSORED TERRORISM where the government and the military of Pakistan are involved.
JD Vance, the VP of USA said that India Pakistan war is “none of our business” but also assured that they will try to de-escalate the situation. Feels assuring when it comes from such a powerful man.
We do not want war. We want peace because the world works better that way. There is growth - economically and socially. We would rather run an economic race with all countries than an arms race with one.
On the evening of 9th May, 2025, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that the drones coming out of Pakistan were targeting Indian cities and populated areas - particularly Hindu and Christian religious sites.
We have heard NO statements from the Pakistan leadership assuring India of no cross border terrorism. We have instead heard them supporting terrorists and admitting their own role.
This gave us confidence that the world is watching this too and it will pick the right side.
However,
On 10th May, 2025, IMF sanctioned 2.4 BILLION USD loan to Pakistan citing “Pakistan has made important progress in restoring macroeconomic stability despite a challenging environment”.
If they really deserve it, give them, but look at the timing of the sanctions. If you are a policymaker, is this sanction making this world ‘a better place to live in for the future generations’? Can you at least ask Pakistan to address the issue of terrorism before handing them more money?
Now IMF follows a voting system and each nation has a weightage that is predetermined. My understanding is that in order to sanction a loan to a country, you need to have a majority. Naturally, Pakistan has garnered majority since the loan has been sanctioned.
This makes me wonder -
If you do business with Russia during the Russia-Ukraine war, you are funding the Russian war efforts. I want to understand from the countries who supported the loan to Pakistan - what are you supporting?
I leave it up to you to decide. Is it fair and reasonable to extend money to a leadership consistently guilty of grooming and sponsoring terrorists? From what I can see, this only extends the war further.
It’s easy for Pakistan to say that the money will be used for emergency purposes - in this case buying more weapons for war.
As I write this article, I got a pop up that India and Pakistan have agreed to a ceasefire. Going by the chronology, this only seems like a PAUSE until Pakistan is ready again with more weapons and military.
I hope the ceasefire is upheld for as long as possible. I hopelessly hope that Pakistan uses these funds in building for their own than breaking things of others (although their track record tells me otherwise).
Special mention to India news channels. YOU SUCK AND YOU SHOULD BE BANNED FOR SPREADING FAKE NEWS!
Social media is NOT YOUR SOURCE. We turn to you because we trust you will show us verified news.
Sensationalising war is NOT OKAY. The war was meant to teach the terrorists and their supporters a lesson, not to kill the innocent lives living in the enemy state. There is NO FUN in hearing screams of innocent people on either side of the border.
